TL;DR: Nova, Immersive Dual, Apex, Spectra Dual and Hypermural X Dual print walls and floors; Hypermural X does not. Choose among them by the published configuration, rails and mode-switch details. Floor printing uses a 1.9 m cross-track band with unlimited length; a six-meter rail is not that band.
Floor capability comes before model ranking
A wall-and-floor requirement immediately removes the wall-only Hypermural X from this shortlist. The remaining five models share vertical and horizontal capability, but their documented heads, motion, rails and conversion statements differ. “Best” here means the configuration that fits your intended work, not a market-wide performance ranking.
For interior designers, a branded wall, tile floor and glass partition need separate preparation and approval. A material list does not guarantee adhesion to every coating.
Read band, rail and length as different dimensions
The published floor-printing fact is a 1.9 m cross-track band with unlimited length. That describes the print arrangement, not the physical length of every supplied track. Several included lists specify a six-meter rail; Spectra explicitly lists a six-meter track and adjustable guide rail. Do not describe a six-meter floor band by confusing those measurements.
Nova's floor-rail wording states horizontal printing is supported. Apex and Hypermural X Dual request the current spec sheet. Immersive describes adjustable horizontal rails. These differences mean the exact included floor arrangement should be documented with your quote. Unlimited length does not remove the need for adequate room access and any necessary repositioning.
Published mode-switch details
Immersive Dual publishes one-click wall-to-floor conversion in under 60 seconds. Spectra Dual publishes conversion in under five minutes. Nova, Apex and Hypermural X Dual do not publish a mode-switch duration in their catalog fields, so no time is supplied for them in this guide.
Do not turn conversion time into an estimate for moving between customer jobs. Artwork changes, surface checks, cleaning, moving furniture and arranging the rail are separate activities. Ask to see the relevant conversion in an on-demand or custom demo video and confirm the floor configuration included in the quote.
Match the documented hardware to the work
Nova offers the lowest listed price and one industrial printhead as standard. The other four shortlisted models list two industrial printheads. Their common CMYK plus white capability supports discussing designs for light, dark or transparent surfaces, but the need for a white underbase should be determined from the actual substrate and file.
Immersive publishes its auto-flip system and optional wireless iPad control. Apex describes broad material compatibility and a modular carry-case frame. Spectra lists servo positioning, a low-ink alert and a constant-gap sensor that does not detect obstacles. X Dual extends the Hypermural platform to floors. None of these features supplies an unsupported durability, safety or productivity comparison.
Confirm the finished floor specification
For floors, discuss adhesion and any protective finish suited to the proposed surface and use. This guide does not claim a slip rating, traffic-life figure or certification. A decorative floor image does not itself establish suitability for a safety marking or a regulated installation. Get project-specific approval where it is required.
Measure access and plan space for the rail, operator and equipment. Confirm the floor configuration instead of assuming wall height applies horizontally. For Spectra, the three-meter standard column remains a column dimension, not the floor band or a usable wall-height claim.
A requirement-led choice
Begin with the lowest-priced configuration meeting the documented application, then compare any needed features and options. The right floor-capable model is the one whose quote and specifications answer your project questions. No additional income or equipment-recovery result is attributed to offering both orientations.
Published model comparison
Prices below are USD list prices including worldwide shipping. These are catalog specifications, not measured comparisons or a promise of job performance. Column height is labeled separately from usable print height.
| Model | List price | Wall / floor | Height as published | Standard printheads |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Vertiq Nova | $13,700 | Walls and floors | Up to 2.4 m | 1 × industrial printhead |
| Immersive Dual | $17,600 | Walls and floors | Up to 2.4 m | 2 × industrial printheads |
| Vertiq Apex | $18,700 | Walls and floors | Up to 2.4 m, unlimited width | 2 × industrial printheads |
| Spectra Dual | $20,900 | Walls and floors | Column: 3 m standard / 3.5 m optional (column, not usable print height) | 2 × industrial printheads |
| Hypermural X Dual | $22,600 | Walls and floors | Wall up to 2.4 m | 2 × industrial printheads |
Published speeds use their stated conditions; do not treat different ranges as a controlled head-to-head test. A rail's physical length is not the floor's cross-track print band. Request the current spec sheet where the catalog does not publish a dimension.
Included equipment and training
The model pages list these included items. Confirm the exact configuration and any optional accessories in your written quote; do not assume an option is included at list price.
For the other shortlisted models, use the linked machine pages' included-items lists. The comparison table does not establish an identical accessory package across models.
Remote video training and control software are included. Training scope is confirmed in writing with each quote. No fixed curriculum, completion deadline or certification is promised here.
Ownership, delivery and support
You own the equipment outright, with no franchise fees, royalties or territory limits. Ownership does not provide customers or a booked workload. You remain responsible for selling, artwork, preparation and operation. The interior-designer buyer guide discusses potential applications, not verified customer results.
Machines are designed and tested in California and shipped from California. List prices include worldwide shipping; destination duties, taxes and clearance are excluded. Delivery coordination and timing are confirmed with your quote, not assumed from this comparison.
U.S.-based support comes from Sherman Oaks, California, with multilingual assistance available. Every model carries a one-year parts warranty per written terms. Consumables and normal printhead wear are excluded; labor and service shipping are included only if the terms say so. Read the warranty. No response time is promised.
US buyers pay by wire or credit card with a processing fee. International buyers pay by wire in full before shipment. No financing or leasing is offered.
Budget and next steps
Published consumables are a $175 five-bottle ink set, $1,500 industrial replacement printhead, $3,200 Nova replacement printhead and approximately $150 maintenance supplies. Ink is $0.40–$6.70 per m², depending on coverage and white underbase. These are published costs, not replacement intervals or complete job-cost estimates.
Budget separately for a suitable laptop, transport, storage, preparation and business expenses using your own researched costs. Review running costs and the calculator with your own assumptions. Vertiq publishes no income, payback or return figures for any operator.
Compare all six models and prices. Request an on-demand demo video, a custom artwork recording or a mailed sample print (you cover sample shipping). Confirm your actual surface, access and dimensions against the current spec sheet and written quote before buying. Samples do not guarantee performance at another site.
