What "shipped from California" means for a US buyer

Every Vertiq machine is shipped from California. For a buyer in the United States that has three practical consequences.

How many printheads, and what does each one do?

This is the main decision when buying a wall printer, and what matters is not the head count but what each head prints.

The Vertiq Nova at $13,700 runs a single printhead that lays down colour and, where needed, white. It is the lower-cost entry into the category and the simpler machine to maintain, because there is one head to clean and one ink path to keep healthy.

The Hypermural X at $18,900, the Hypermural X Dual at $22,600, the Immersive Dual at $17,600 and the Vertiq Apex at $18,700 each carry two printheads — on the Hypermural models, two Epson I1600 heads, one dedicated to white ink and one to CMYK colour. That separation matters most when you print regularly on dark, coloured or transparent surfaces, where a white base layer is doing real work under the image. Note that “Dual” in the Hypermural X Dual name means walls and floors, not the head count: the wall-only Hypermural X carries two heads as well.

The second question is reach: the original models print up to 2.4 m high, and width is unlimited on all models because the machine steps along the wall. For walls taller than that, the image is printed in aligned sections. If your work is standard 8–10 ft interior walls, 2.4 m covers it. 3D wall printing machine: what features to look for

A “3D wall printing machine” in most listings is a vertical wall printing machine: it travels up a rail and jets ink straight onto the wall. Whatever the listing calls it, a reliable wall printing machine is judged on the same ten points.

• Print height. The original models print up to 2.4 m high with unlimited width. Spectra Dual has a 3 m standard / 3.5 m optional column and unlimited rail-based width; column height is distinct from print height. Ask any seller for the figure in one pass, not the theoretical maximum.
• Printhead. Vertiq machines use Epson printheads — one Epson I3200 on the Nova, two Epson I1600 on the other models. Ask which head a machine carries, how many, and what a replacement costs.
• Ink type. Vertiq machines use UV-curable ink, cured instantly by the LED lamps as the head passes.
• Floor capability. Nova, Immersive Dual, Apex, Hypermural X Dual and Spectra Dual print walls and floors; Hypermural X is wall-only.
• Surfaces. Drywall, plaster, brick, concrete, stone, wood, tile, metal, glass and acrylic — ask about preparation for each.
• Software and file formats. Check which file types the controller accepts and how artwork is scaled and positioned on the wall.
• Portability and cases. A reliable wall printing machine travels to the job. Ask what the machine breaks down into and how it is cased.
