TL;DR: A first-machine shortlist can begin with Nova for the lowest list price, Hypermural X for wall-only work and its four-bag transport, or Immersive Dual for its documented wall/floor switch. Remote video training and control software are included; training scope is confirmed in writing. This is not a best-in-market ranking.
Define beginner in terms of the work
A beginner might be a sign-shop owner learning direct-to-wall printing, a contractor adding murals, or an entrepreneur purchasing their first production machine. Instead of selecting a universal “best” printer, identify who will operate it, which surfaces you plan to offer and how it will travel to the job.
A lower equipment price can make a shortlist simpler, but it cannot replace preparation or sound job selection. Use this guide to define questions for the written quote, not to assume immediate competence after delivery.
Nova when entry price is the priority
Nova is the lowest-priced Vertiq model at $13,700. It includes wall and floor capability and one industrial printhead as standard. Its catalog describes RIIN and Betterprinter software, USB or Wi-Fi file transfer and 100–240 V power. Those are useful documented fields for planning a first workstation and asking about site access.
The optional two-printhead configuration is separately quoted. A first buyer should compare the standard included package before selecting extras. Do not assume an option is necessary merely because another model has two heads. Ask how the standard configuration fits your proposed artwork and white-ink needs.
Hypermural X when wall-only mobility matters
Hypermural X is $18,900 and prints vertical surfaces only. It publishes four standard-sized carry bags that fit in a car and setup of 10–15 minutes. Those details make it worth evaluating for a mobile wall-mural service where loading and relocation are controlling requirements.
It is not the right floor-capability choice, because it does not print floors. Its setup statement is not a promise that a new owner will be ready to accept a customer job in that time. Include time for checking the site, arranging the printed area and obtaining artwork approval in your operating plan.
Immersive Dual when both orientations are planned
Immersive Dual is $17,600 and publishes a one-click switch between wall and floor modes in under 60 seconds. It has two industrial printheads and includes the shared starter equipment. Wireless iPad control is optional, so keep the standard and optional configurations separate when comparing costs.
Floor capability is meaningful only when the planned work requires it. For a first-time buyer, adding another surface orientation also adds preparation and site questions. Check the printed band, access, floor condition and any required protective finish instead of treating floor printing as an automatic additional business result.
Training is included, but scope stays written
Remote video training and control software are included with the purchase. The training scope is confirmed in writing with each quote. This guide does not supply an illustrative first-week curriculum, a completion deadline or a certification promise. Ask the team to document what is included for your configuration and what you are expected to prepare.
Before a paid job, plan your own sample work and a truthful portfolio. Inspect the actual print on the intended surface and document the preparation used. That is buyer diligence, not a promised training module or a claim that every beginner can handle every substrate. Your first-machine decision should leave room for this careful evaluation.
Pick a requirement, then a model
Nova addresses entry price, X addresses a published wall-only transport arrangement, and Immersive addresses documented wall/floor conversion. Other models may fit your requirements better; compare all six before narrowing the choice. None is presented as the best printer in the market or a shortcut to customers.
Published model comparison
Prices below are USD list prices including worldwide shipping. These are catalog specifications, not measured comparisons or a promise of job performance. Column height is labeled separately from usable print height.
| Model | List price | Wall / floor | Height as published | Standard printheads |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Vertiq Nova | $13,700 | Walls and floors | Up to 2.4 m | 1 × industrial printhead |
| Hypermural X | $18,900 | Walls only | Up to 2.4 m | 2 × industrial printheads |
| Immersive Dual | $17,600 | Walls and floors | Up to 2.4 m | 2 × industrial printheads |
Published speeds use their stated conditions; do not treat different ranges as a controlled head-to-head test. A rail's physical length is not the floor's cross-track print band. Request the current spec sheet where the catalog does not publish a dimension.
Included equipment and training
The model pages list these included items. Confirm the exact configuration and any optional accessories in your written quote; do not assume an option is included at list price.
For the other shortlisted models, use the linked machine pages' included-items lists. The comparison table does not establish an identical accessory package across models.
Remote video training and control software are included. Training scope is confirmed in writing with each quote. No fixed curriculum, completion deadline or certification is promised here.
Ownership, delivery and support
You own the equipment outright, with no franchise fees, royalties or territory limits. Ownership does not provide customers or a booked workload. You remain responsible for selling, artwork, preparation and operation. The first-time entrepreneur guide discusses potential applications, not verified customer results.
Machines are designed and tested in California and shipped from California. List prices include worldwide shipping; destination duties, taxes and clearance are excluded. Delivery coordination and timing are confirmed with your quote, not assumed from this comparison.
U.S.-based support comes from Sherman Oaks, California, with multilingual assistance available. Every model carries a one-year parts warranty per written terms. Consumables and normal printhead wear are excluded; labor and service shipping are included only if the terms say so. Read the warranty. No response time is promised.
US buyers pay by wire or credit card with a processing fee. International buyers pay by wire in full before shipment. No financing or leasing is offered.
Budget and next steps
Published consumables are a $175 five-bottle ink set, $1,500 industrial replacement printhead, $3,200 Nova replacement printhead and approximately $150 maintenance supplies. Ink is $0.40–$6.70 per m², depending on coverage and white underbase. These are published costs, not replacement intervals or complete job-cost estimates.
Budget separately for a suitable laptop, transport, storage, preparation and business expenses using your own researched costs. Review running costs and the calculator with your own assumptions. Vertiq publishes no income, payback or return figures for any operator.
Compare all six models and prices. Request an on-demand demo video, a custom artwork recording or a mailed sample print (you cover sample shipping). Confirm your actual surface, access and dimensions against the current spec sheet and written quote before buying. Samples do not guarantee performance at another site.
