TL;DR: Both models print walls and floors with two industrial printheads. Immersive Dual is $17,600 with a published under-60-second mode switch. Spectra Dual is $20,900 with an under-five-minute switch and a 3 m standard column. Spectra's column dimension is not a usable print-height claim.
Compare the workflow, not the name
Both models are wall-and-floor UV printers, so “Dual” does not distinguish their surface orientation. A print shop considering on-site interiors should compare the actual setup and control arrangements against its intended workflow. The published list price is lower for Immersive Dual, while Spectra lists its own frame, sensing and rail features. Neither fact establishes an overall winner.
Immersive Dual describes a one-click auto-flip system that changes modes in under 60 seconds. Spectra describes changing modes in under five minutes. These are equipment conversion statements, not full job-change times. Clearing a room, moving the rail, approving the next file and preparing another surface remain separate activities. Do not turn the two statements into a claim about how many jobs an operator can complete.
Keep height labels honest
Immersive Dual lists wall print height up to 2.4 m with unlimited width. Spectra lists a three-meter standard column and an optional extension to 3.5 m. A column is a physical part of the frame, not the same measurement as usable print height. This comparison therefore labels the Spectra figure as column height and makes no taller-print claim.
If a print shop needs a specific mural height, send the actual dimensions to the team and request the usable printed area and edge clearances in writing. Ask whether additional positioning or access equipment is required. Do not choose solely because the larger column number sounds like a larger finished image.
Sensing, movement and access
Spectra publishes a servo-driven frame with ±0.1 mm positioning accuracy, spring cables and a constant-gap sensor maintaining about five millimeters from the wall. Its catalog explicitly says the sensor does not detect obstacles. Clear the print path before printing; sensing is not a substitute for checking the site.
Immersive Dual describes a helical rack drive, smart resume printing and a low-ink alert. Wireless iPad control is an option. Ask for the quoted option's included hardware and control arrangement before treating wireless operation as standard. The two models' different control descriptions should be evaluated through documentation and demonstration, not translated into unsupported claims about reliability or ease of learning.
Published speeds are approximately 2–3 m²/hour for Spectra and 3–6 m²/hour for Immersive. The catalog does not provide a controlled test using identical artwork, white coverage and settings. Use the figures as model-specific references and ask how your intended file would be printed, rather than ranking them as a verified speed contest.
Rails and transport
Spectra explicitly includes a six-meter rail and carrying bag, with a flight case available as an option. Immersive's included list specifies a six-meter rail and its floor-rail description says adjustable horizontal rails. Neither physical track length means a six-meter cross-track floor band. Confirm the usable floor arrangement and room access in the quote.
A mobile print shop should also inspect loading and storage requirements. Spectra's spring cables and Immersive's rubber wheels are published design features, not evidence that one operator can safely handle every part in every building. Ask for packing and handling details that match your vehicle and job sites.
A conditional choice
Shortlist Immersive when its list price and documented conversion system fit the planned work. Shortlist Spectra when its frame, rail and sensing specification answers a particular requirement. Use the actual job dimensions to decide; do not infer production capacity or business results from a feature name.
Published model comparison
Prices below are USD list prices including worldwide shipping. These are catalog specifications, not measured comparisons or a promise of job performance. Column height is labeled separately from usable print height.
| Model | List price | Wall / floor | Height as published | Standard printheads |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Spectra Dual | $20,900 | Walls and floors | Column: 3 m standard / 3.5 m optional (column, not usable print height) | 2 × industrial printheads |
| Immersive Dual | $17,600 | Walls and floors | Up to 2.4 m | 2 × industrial printheads |
Published speeds use their stated conditions; do not treat different ranges as a controlled head-to-head test. A rail's physical length is not the floor's cross-track print band. Request the current spec sheet where the catalog does not publish a dimension.
Included equipment and training
The model pages list these included items. Confirm the exact configuration and any optional accessories in your written quote; do not assume an option is included at list price.
Remote video training and control software are included. Training scope is confirmed in writing with each quote. No fixed curriculum, completion deadline or certification is promised here.
Ownership, delivery and support
You own the equipment outright, with no franchise fees, royalties or territory limits. Ownership does not provide customers or a booked workload. You remain responsible for selling, artwork, preparation and operation. The print-shop buyer guide discusses potential applications, not verified customer results.
Machines are designed and tested in California and shipped from California. List prices include worldwide shipping; destination duties, taxes and clearance are excluded. Delivery coordination and timing are confirmed with your quote, not assumed from this comparison.
U.S.-based support comes from Sherman Oaks, California, with multilingual assistance available. Every model carries a one-year parts warranty per written terms. Consumables and normal printhead wear are excluded; labor and service shipping are included only if the terms say so. Read the warranty. No response time is promised.
US buyers pay by wire or credit card with a processing fee. International buyers pay by wire in full before shipment. No financing or leasing is offered.
Budget and next steps
Published consumables are a $175 five-bottle ink set, $1,500 industrial replacement printhead, $3,200 Nova replacement printhead and approximately $150 maintenance supplies. Ink is $0.40–$6.70 per m², depending on coverage and white underbase. These are published costs, not replacement intervals or complete job-cost estimates.
Budget separately for a suitable laptop, transport, storage, preparation and business expenses using your own researched costs. Review running costs and the calculator with your own assumptions. Vertiq publishes no income, payback or return figures for any operator.
Compare all six models and prices. Request an on-demand demo video, a custom artwork recording or a mailed sample print (you cover sample shipping). Confirm your actual surface, access and dimensions against the current spec sheet and written quote before buying. Samples do not guarantee performance at another site.
